Premiere: DIMWIND – Window Passed

This year has already seen an astounding album from Virginia project Breaths, yet they’re poised ready for another release already, this time in the form of Seasons, a split with Swedish post-metallers DIMWIND. The split looks to see both bands turn their attention to the underlying threat worrying us all: impending climate catastrophe.

Today, we’re excited to bring you the first track from that split, an epic fifteen minute prospect that kicks off with a sample acting as a mission statement before finding a rhythm that steadily builds and builds, the track growing increasingly expansive as it unfurls. DIMWIND may ostensibly be a post-metal band but they refuse to stay rooted in that genre, making for a dynamic listen that’s at once mournful and poignant whilst still managing to reach some epic heights. Is it enough to spurn us into action? Let’s hope so.

Seasons is out 15th April on Trepanation Recordings.
