Just as our site’s gaming section came after The Soulsborne Issue got us excited about the possibilities of exploring the world of video games, our recent Tolkien Issue opened up the potential for exploring literature in more depth. As such, we’re launching a sort of ‘book club’, where we’ll tell you what book we’re going to cover so that you can read along and join in on the discussion. We’ll post some spoiler-free articles along the way and then once we’ve finished reading we’ll publish more pieces exploring the book in detail, as well as its parallels with music (if any) and also share some of you guys’ thoughts on the book in question.
To start with we’ll be reading Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic Dune, a landmark novel that a few of us are yet to read! We’ll be aiming to publish the first articles around the same time as the upcoming adaptation hits UK cinemas on 22nd October, so look out for more chances to join in on the book club discussion in the coming weeks and months. If you’ll be reading along with us, let us know in the comments and feel free to share any thoughts and observations you have as you make your way through the book.
