Metal Artists Combine for New Compilation Fighting Homelessness

With the first Friday of May tomorrow comes another Bandcamp fee-free Friday, and amongst the array of new releases, merch and all sorts of goodies, a new compilation is being released by the UK’s Halfmeltedbrain Records. Based in Brighton, the label has put together BONG GRENADES II: BANDS AGAINST HOMELESSNESS in an effort to support local charity Sussex Homeless Support, who do immensely valuable work by supporting and providing advice to people suffering housing crisis in the county of Sussex.

I myself was born and raised in Sussex so this issue is close to home, but it’s important to look further afield when it comes to helping our fellow humans as well. The bands involved are aware of this too, since the compilation features the work of incredible acts from all over the UK and beyond. Amongst the esteemed tracklist are Seattle duo Pound, Sheffield sludgers Kurokuma, Pennsylvanian trio Secret Cutter, Kent post-metal outfit Ohhms, the wonderfully weird Codex Serafini and Geordie stoner rockers Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, amongst many other awesome artists. With thirty tracks, it’s safe to say you’re getting some considerable bang for your buck.
