Times are increasingly tough right now, but we’re finding music a small consolation as we isolate. It seems post-black metal collective Agvirre are doing the same, and we’re thrilled that they reached out to us with this two-act playlist designed to inspire hope. Over to them…
“In these tough and bleak times, we have been feeling the lack of creativity and routine affecting our lives. Like many other musicians and artists out there, it is becoming increasingly difficult to stay creative as we tumble further into uncertainty. Many people out there will be finding themselves struggling even more with their mental health, so it is important that we look after ourselves and each other, whilst maintaining government guidelines.
“Stay home, stay in touch with your friends and loved ones, and try and keep your brain active by finding little challenges throughout the day; exercise daily from home or within the government guidelines to keep the body and mind invigorated. It is also important that we find little ways to treat ourselves; indulging in those records, films and video games that we just didn’t have the time to squeeze in before, perhaps even taking this opportunity to learn a new language, pick up an instrument or try out new recipes. Though we are limited physically by what we can do, our minds are still capable of achieving anything.
“Though undoubtedly some people are in worse situations than others right now, it is vital to take comfort in the fact that we are all in this together. Even on those days where we feel unable to do anything and feel useless, it’s important that we don’t feel bad about ourselves and stay hopeful that we can make it through this and someday soon see a brighter outlook and be able to go on new adventures.
