The solo project of Joshua Jones, here collaborating with Thom Weeks, Human Head is hip-hop at its most intimate, exploring themes of identity, living below the poverty line, alcohol abuse and mental health. Minimalist but nuanced beats allow Jones’ poetry background to shine, his songs often holding the same weight as spoken word pieces and exploring a variety of themes often within the confines of a single track. His 2019 EP Sorry, I Wasn’t Listening is a must-hear, and ‘No One Lives Here Yet’ is a clear standout from the release. Jones’ distinctive Welsh accent can be heard on the track, offering an endearingly unembellished approach that helps you realise that his lyrics are drawn from life experience, and aren’t trying to be anything other than honest.
Today, the brand new video for this stunning track, powered by bizarre imagery and shots of arcade games, can be viewed exclusively right here, and we’re thrilled to share it with you. Check it out below.
